Installation Instructions

Hyundai Genesis 2.0T

All GrimmSpeed products are intended for Off-Road use only. Park your vehicle on a level surface. Fully

engage the parking brake and put wheel stops on the front and rear wheels to keep the vehicle from

rolling.

Warning (read before installing):

Before moving forward with the setups outlined below, insure that you have the experience to properly

modify your car. If not, please consult a professional. Without a proper install you could possibly damage

your engine. Under no circumstances is the GrimmSpeed Thermostat to be used in any applications where

failure of the thermostat to operate as intended could jeopardize the safety of the operator or any other

person or property.

Note: If you live a cold weather/winter state, you may notice that your heat does not warm up as quickly

and as much when running a 160 Degree Thermostat. This is perfectly normal and part of running a cooler

thermostat.

Installation Steps

1. Remove Intake Box. (3) 12mm Bolts, (1) Hose clamp to Intake Pipe.

2. Remove Intake Pipe. (2) Hose clamps to breather lines, (1) Hose clamp to turbo.

3. Remove Thermostat Housing Cover. (3) 12mm bolts. Move Cover/Hose to side.

4. Pull out old Thermostat. If you have not drained your coolant prior to doing this, coolant will come

out so have a catch pan ready.

5. Insert GrimmSpeed 160 Degree Thermostat w/rubber gasket into Thermostat housing. There is an

alignment nub on the top of the gasket, make sure to rotate the Thermostat so the alignment nub

lines up. If you fail to do this it may leak.

6. Replace Thermostat Housing Cover. (3) 12mm Bolts. Tightening Torque 13-17 ft lb.

7. Replace Intake Pipe and Intake Box

8. Refill coolant. There may be many air bubbles in your system after draining the coolant for the

install so make sure to run car with cap open for a few minutes to get all air bubbles out. Leaving air

bubbles in a cooling system will cause the car to overheat.
